In loving memory of my godmother Vera. Vera was a good friend to my parents and brilliant support to my mother during her first pregnancy. I came from the second pregnancy and Vera was asked to be my godmother - the only one to four of us who was not a relative. Vera has kept in touch with me during my whole life. I was so pleased to have regular phone contact with Vera during her last years - she filled many gaps in my family knowledge from that incredible memory of hers - and was always so lucid and articulate. A remarkable woman who was gracious and thankful for what she had and the kind people and family around her.
